In the Fall of 2016, IU Bloomington launched the "Snapchat Newscast." This weekly newscast featured student groups who would come into the IU Communications offices each Monday to talk about their club or group's upcoming event. For students and by students, this newscast is an authentic look into student life on campus. In 2017, the newscast was expanded to Instagram Stories. Results

The videos are routinely among the best-performing content on both Snapchat and Instagram Stories, averaging 2,700 and 14,600 unique viewers, respectively. Each story averages more than 45,000 aggregate views on Snapchat and 155,000 on Instagram Stories.
